How to translate or change Consent Studio component copywriting on your website
Consent Studio ships with default translations for over 30 languages. You can override any default text with your own wording, or simply leave fields empty to use our prepared translations. In this guide, we will show you how.
We also offer articles on how to translate tracking technology explanations and how to add more languages to your system.
Finding the Translations Panel
Firstly, make sure that you are logged in to the Consent Studio dashboard and within the context of the target domain.
In the top bar, open the Web CMP dropdown menu.
In this dropdown menu, click Translations, under Localisation. You will be navigated to the Translations panel.
Changing texts
Select the language that you want to change from the tabs at the top. Then, select the type of component that you want to edit. For example, the Banner.
The texts that Consent Studio pre-filled for you can be imported for you to change, by clicking the icon right above each field.
When you leave the text field empty, the default copywriting offered by Consent Studio will be used.
Using variables
You can use variables in your copywriting. These start with the : symbol. By typing a : symbol, you can open the dropdown menu with all available variables.
Variables change dynamically. However, they are subject to caching for performance. There may be a delay between changes in your tracking technology report and the banner copywriting.
