Connect an AI app to Consent Studio (MCP)
Connect Claude, ChatGPT or another supported AI app to your account, and manage or disconnect it under AI Connections
Last updated About 2 hours ago
You can connect an AI app, such as Claude or ChatGPT, to your Consent Studio account. The AI app can then read your dashboard and make changes for you, while you ask questions and give instructions in your own words. Consent Studio offers this through an MCP server: a standard way for AI apps to connect to other tools.
Who can connect an AI app
Every plan can connect an AI app, as soon as at least one of your domains has a paid subscription whose first payment has gone through. A trial does not count, also not the trial days after you entered a card.
Once connected, the AI app covers every domain in your account, including domains that are still on a trial.
Which AI apps you can use
You can connect Claude and ChatGPT, and AI apps that run on your own computer, such as Claude Desktop and Claude Code. Other AI apps are refused when they try to connect. If you'd like to use an app that is refused, contact support@consent.studio.
How to connect an AI app
In the dashboard, open your account from the user menu and choose AI Connections.
Click Connect an AI app and copy the MCP URL:
https://consent.studio/mcpIn your AI app, add a new connector (sometimes called an integration or MCP server) and paste the URL.
Your AI app sends you to Consent Studio. Log in if needed, check the app name and the domain it will send your data to, and approve the connection.
That's it. You don't need an API key, and nothing has to be switched on from our side.
What an AI app can do
The AI app works with the same data and permissions you have in the dashboard, and changes follow your plan exactly as they do there. It can, for example:
Read your domains, banner settings, banner texts, languages, geotargeting rules, integrations, Monitoring results and recommendations, Launcher tags, plan usage and invoices.
Change your banner styling, behaviour and texts, languages, tracking technologies, geotargeting rules, integrations, domain aliases and Launcher tags made from a template.
Guide you through setting up a new domain or installing Consent Studio, one question at a time.
Search and read the articles in this help center.
The AI app asks you first before sensitive changes, such as adding a new domain, removing a domain alias, publishing Launcher, or anything that is charged on top of your plan. A change reaches your live banner within a few minutes, just like a change in the dashboard.
Some things stay in the dashboard. An AI app can never change your account details, password or two-factor authentication, change your plan or payment method, delete a domain, or see individual visitors and their consent choices.
Copy settings from one domain to another
There is no single copy button, but your AI app can read the settings of one domain and apply them to another domain step by step. This works for:
Banner styling and behaviour
Languages and translations
Tracking technologies
Geotargeting rules
Integrations
For each change, the AI app first shows you what it will change. It only applies the change after you confirm. You need access to both domains.
For example, you can ask your AI app:
Take the settings of example.com and apply them to example.org.
Manage and disconnect AI apps
Under AI Connections you see every AI app connected to your account, when it was connected, when it was last used and the date you need to reconnect by. Click Revoke to disconnect an app at any time.
You can have up to three AI apps connected at the same time.
A connection lasts 90 days. After that, your AI app asks you to approve it again.
A connection that isn't used for 30 days ends on its own.
Changing your password or email address disconnects every AI app. Connect it again from your AI app afterwards.
Connecting an AI app is meant for asking your own questions and giving your own instructions. It isn't meant for running an unattended integration, which is why connections end after a while and need your approval again.
