"Renew your crawler signature"
What the Renew your crawler signature Monitoring recommendation means and how to resolve it
Last updated About 1 hour ago
Renew your crawler signature is an urgent recommendation in Consent Studio Monitoring. Active recommendations show on the Start page of your domain's dashboard and on the Recommendations page (Monitoring dropdown in the top bar). Collaborators on the domain may also receive it by email.
What this recommendation means
The recommendation says: "The crawler signature that lets our scanner into your website expires soon or has expired. Without a valid signature, your platform blocks our scanner again."
Why you're seeing it
Your crawler signature expires within two weeks, or has expired
Some platforms, such as Shopify, only let Monitoring in with a crawler signature. These signatures expire (on Shopify after at most 3 months) and can't be extended. You create a new one instead.
How to resolve it
Create a new signature where you made the previous one, for example in Shopify.
Click Renew signature on the recommendation. This opens the Access tab of your Domain Settings.
Click Replace signature, paste the new lines and save.
The step-by-step guide is in Shopify Monitoring access: Renewing your signature.
The recommendation closes by itself as soon as you save the new signature on the Access tab. You don't need to wait for a scan. This recommendation can't be dismissed.
