How tracking technologies are described
How we describe the tracking technologies found on your website, and how you can correct them
Last updated About 3 hours ago
When Consent Studio Monitoring finds a tracking technology on your website, we first check our own database of known tracking technologies. This database is updated regularly. You can suggest additions or corrections by e-mailing support@consent.studio.
Tracking technologies in our database
For a tracking technology we know, we fill in its category, description, vendor, platform, privacy portal URL and expiry. Your banner and declaration show these explanations in your visitors' language where we have a translation.
You can correct each of these fields yourself, including the vendor and platform. Open the tracking technology's edit screen under Monitoring > Tracking Technologies and click the padlock next to the field you want to change. Your correction stays in place after every scan.
Tracking technologies we don't know yet
When we don't have an explanation for a tracking technology, it's listed with the status Not in our database. Open its edit screen under Monitoring > Tracking Technologies and fill in the description, vendor, platform and category yourself.
Where the privacy link goes
Each tracking technology in your banner and declaration links to the privacy page of whoever is responsible for it. That is the vendor's own privacy page for ad networks and social media, and your own privacy policy for tools that process data on your behalf and for tracking technologies placed by your website's own software.
Step-by-step instructions for all of this are in Manage your tracking technologies.
