Installation of the Consent Studio CMP for Google Consent Mode v2 on your Wix website

After completing the following steps, you will have Consent Studio CMP consent banner installed on your WordPress website with Google Consent Mode enabled. Here are the steps to take.

Consent Studio integrates directly with Wix, so your consent banner is deployed and kept up to date on your Wix site automatically. No code, no manual script pasting.

If you wish to install Consent Studio using custom code, that is also a possibility. Both installation paths are explained below.

Install Consent Studio via our official Wix App

About

The Consent Studio for Wix app will:

• Create a Consent Studio account for you based on your Wix account email address, or connect to your existing Consent Studio account if your website is already registered with us;

• Register your website's domain with Consent Studio if it is not already registered, and link it to that email address;

• Publish a consent banner to your Wix site automatically, and keep it up to date whenever your settings change;

• Let you manage your consent banner and all Google Consent Mode parameters (such as default consent signals, regional defaults, and URL data passthrough) from the Consent Studio dashboard. After any change, our services automatically update the snippet on your Wix website.

Requirements

If you already have a user account with Consent Studio, make sure that the account with Wix that you will be installing Consent Studio on has the same e-mail address. You will need a subscription with Consent Studio for your domain - or an active trial period.

Steps

Open the guided installation wizard of Web CMP by opening the dropdown menu and clicking Install Consent Studio.

Answer the questions of the guide. Another installation path may be suggested to you, but by giving the following answers, you will get the instructions for Wix.

In the last question, select the Wix App.

Click Next. Here, you will be prompted to install our Wix app using the button Install Consent Studio on Wix.

Clicking this button, will open the installation page of our Wix app. Review the information and click Add to Site if you agree with our terms, values, offer and services and follow the instructions from Wix.

After completion, you will be directed to this page:

Since there are no settings to offer in Wix itself (everything is managed in Consent Studio), you will at most see some information here.

Behind the scenes, Consent Studio will apply the correct code snippet to your Wix website. You may now close the Wix tab in your browser and return to the Consent Studio installation wizard. Please refresh the page to update the status.

You will now see that the Wix site is properly connected to your domain.

To change the Google Consent Mode settings on your Wix website, scroll down down on the page. Specifically, in the Google Consent Mode Configuration section, you will be able to find and modify these settings.

Click Apply to push your Consent Mode settings update to your Wix website.

Install Consent Studio via Custom Code

Follow the Installation wizard steps from the Wix App guide above up until you get to choose for the custom code option.

You will in the Recommendation step (click Next) be able to interactively modify the code that you can copy to paste on your website.
