Installation of the Consent Studio CMP for Google Consent Mode v2 on your Webflow website
After completing the following steps, you will have Consent Studio CMP consent banner installed on your Webflow website with Google Consent Mode enabled. In fact, you can manage Google Consent Mode v2 on your Webflow website directly from the Consent Studio dashboard.
The benefits of using the Consent Studio Webflow App for consent management ("cookie banners")
Consent Studio is a Certified CMP Partner with Google.
Consent Studio is affordable — our €10/month plan is virtually an "unlimited plan" for most of our customers — especially compared to other consent management platforms in the market.
Consent Studio does not rely on U.S. infrastructure, keeping you out of reach of the U.S. CLOUD Act.
Consent Studio takes care of the Google Consent Mode v2 default signals for you and your Webflow website automatically.
Consent Studio takes care of the Consent Log, which is required to actually be compliant under most privacy laws.
Good to know about our Webflow Cookie Banner App
You will need to be able to grant Consent Studio permission to manage Custom Code for your websites.
You can retract our access at any time via both the Webflow and Consent Studio dashboard (via "Connected Accounts" on the profile page).
We will remotely maintain your Google Consent Mode v2 default settings on your Webflow website.
Other collaborators in Consent Studio will not be able to access your Webflow sites, however, they will be able to make changes to the Google Consent Mode v2 default signals once you have attached one of your Webflow websites to a particular domain in Consent Studio.
Here are the steps to undertake in order to install Consent Studio on your Webflow websites.
1. Make sure that you have an account with Consent Studio
Log in at https://consent.studio. If you do not yet have an account, you can create one below.
You can register a new domain on https://consent.studio/app/new.
2. Make sure you have already configured your banner
Before moving on to Webflow, we want to make sure that you have reviewed all the existing settings of your Consent Studio consent banner. Please review the following areas of your consent banner:
Behaviour
Styling
Translations
Integrations (e.g. with Microsoft Clarity and more)
And feel free to consult our team if you have any questions.
3. Connect Webflow
In the top navigation, open the Banner menu. In this dropdown menu, open the Installation panel.
In the Installation panel, open the Webflow tab.
Click the Connect Webflow Account button, which can be found when you have the Connect with Webflow section opened.
Webflow will now prompt you to log in, if you aren't already, after which they will ask you to review the permissions Consent Studio is asking for and select the list of sites that you would like us to be able to access.
We will not modify any website until you have explicitly connected said website to a domain property in Consent Studio. Feel free to pre-authorise us for websites that you would like us to implement/manage the consent banner on in the future, since that will save you a new authorisation prompt in the future.
Click the Authorize App button in Webflow after you have made your selection.
4. Let Consent Studio manage the consent banner on your website
Once you have authorised our Webflow App, you will be returned back to the Consent Studio dashboard, specifically, to the context of the website you were managing.
In the Connect with Webflow section, you will find the Webflow websites that we can connect the active Consent Studio domain property to.
Make your selection by clicking them and clicking Apply.
We will start implementing the Consent Studio consent banner on these websites once you click Apply, in combination with Google Consent Mode v2.
5. Review Google Consent Mode v2 default signals
In order to manage the default signals for Google Consent Mode v2 on your Webflow website, you will do that via the Consent Studio dashboard from now on.
These sections can be modified in this area of the Webflow installation page:
When clicking Apply, we will automatically update the Google Consent Mode v2 script on your Webflow website.
6. Make sure that your tracking respects consent signals
Below are useful resources to help you achieve this.
Discover the custom events for Google Tag Manager, which can be used for tag triggering in GTM
Discover the JS browser events, which can be used for custom JS

Are you using Google tags? Using Advanced Consent Mode, Google tags will respect your consent signals out of the box — even on the All Pages trigger.
6. Monitor your implementation
Now that you have finalised your implementation, we recommend keeping an eye on what your Consent Studio dashboard (we have a health check page that becomes available to you when issues are detected by our scanner).
Also, please keep an eye on whether our cookie scanner actually finds cookies on your website. If your website does use cookies, but our scanner does not find any, it may because of any of these causes:
You do not have the correct domain registered with Consent Studio;
You have another CMP installed on the domain;
No scan has ran just yet (please wait up to 15 minutes after registration for your initial scan to start)
